You may not be going into an arena to fight to the death, but you can still train like a Hunger Games tribute.

Athletes and trainers are drawing inspiration from the best-selling trilogy and blockbuster movie, which tells the story of a deadly contest, which pits 24 tributes, boys and girls aged 12 to 18, against one another in a battle until there’s only one survivor.

“The interesting thing with the Hunger Games is that the physical is a huge part of it, but the mental toughness is also a big part,” says Brent Bishop, personal trainer, lifestyle coach and owner of Think Fitness Studios in Toronto.
