The Chase was on! If you happened to be in Toronto’s High Park this past Friday and saw crowds of people sprinting in all directions, there wasn’t an emergency, or some wild animal loose from the High Park Zoo. It was called #ChaseTheGear, a one of a kind event that definitely got people running.

The public was encouraged to check out Facebook Live to identify the location of elite trainer and NHL legend Gary Roberts and Olympians Meaghan Mikkelson and Natalie Spooner. These three runners took turns sprinting through High Park armed with a backpack that included several tags attached to it. Those who could catch them would pull a tag off the backpack to be later redeemed for a selection of Sport Chek’s exclusive high performance Olympic collection gear. The entire event unfolded on Facebook Live where viewers could get involved by answering Olympic trivia questions, commenting on the event and is took place. What a great way to get people active, definitely looking forward to seeing something like this again.

As a side note, if you have not yet checked out the new flagship Sport Chek at CS Sherway Garden’s in Toronto, you need to experience this place – three floors of top gear and equipment for sports, lifestyle and adventure.
